Big news today, we’re releasing an updated brand identity, which includes a new logo, color scheme, font, and additionally a brand-new website! Over the next few months, you’ll see the new look anywhere we’re out in public, like our website, Facebook, and Instagram; very soon you’ll see it on our products, as well.
Firstly, it’s not changes for the sake of change. That said, change is inevitable, and something to be embraced but that’s not a good enough reason to change a logo. A good reason to change a logo is that it’s not doing the job you wanted it to do.
Our first logo was created before the company launched. It was simple and playful. It was pretty good … but not at all cohesive. And the important thing about being a brand is that whenever people see you in the wild, they should recognize that it’s you.
So here we are. We chose the color scheme to reflect our core values and mission. Green representing our values to be eco-friendly and good stewards of our natural resources. Green also alleviates tension and implies restfulness. This is nature’s color; fresh and natural.
The purple representing our mission to allow our faith and creativity to flourish with integrity. Purple a very intriguing color. It’s soothing, but also represents the future, the imagination, while spiritually calming the emotions while, at the same time, keeping us grounded.
We believe the new look better matches our values and mission. It uses a simpler color palette and, we believe, is more refined, but still contains the spirit of the original. We’re still Tammy’s Handcrafted Candles. But more consistent and, we hope, more instantly recognizable.
